March 25, 2025 (Published: March 1, 2025)
March isn’t just about the promise of spring — it’s a popular month for launching new coffee shops.
Across the country, ten independent coffee shops are marking significant anniversaries, serving their communities from one to 25 years.
Fueled by passion, perseverance and a little help from our 7 Steps to Success program, these local favorites are raising their mugs to years of great coffee and even greater community connections.
These anniversaries aren’t just numbers. They represent years of hard work, heart and hometown love poured into every cup:
Beans & Cream – 25 years in Cedarville, Ohio
Moka’s Coffee – 20 years in Saraland, Alabama
June’s Place – 7 years in Rexburg, Idaho
Southern Grounds Coffee Bar – 2 years in McComb, Mississippi
King’s Street Cafe, Inc – 2 years in Wadsworth, Ohio
kat’s Coffeehouse – 2 years in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania
Grindstone Coffee @ Forshag’s – 2 years in Franklinton, Louisiana
Virgil’s Coffeehouse & Creamery – 1 year in Louisville, Ohio
Lock No. 4 Coffee – 1 year in McConnelsville, Ohio

kat’s Coffehouse Marks Two Years of Growth
One standout is kat’s Coffeehouse, co-founded by Kathy and Todd Williams in Pennsylvania. Starting with zero coffee experience, they leaned into Crimson Cup’s 7 Steps to Success program. Todd said it best:
“With no prior experience in the industry, we knew we needed a partner that truly understood coffee. Crimson Cup gave us the tools, training and confidence to bring our vision to life.”
Now, kat’s is a neighborhood gem, serving up warm espresso and good vibes daily.
Since 1991, Crimson Cup has helped over 300 entrepreneurs in 37 states bring their coffee dreams to life.
